Amba Estate is a community-run social enterprise located high in the Uva Mountains of Sri Lanka, overlooking the beautiful Ravana Ella Waterfalls. Set at around 1,000 metres above sea level, our farm is surrounded by rich biodiversity and stunning natural landscapes.

Our mission is to support local communities by increasing farmers’ incomes while protecting the environment. Instead of selling raw produce to large processors, we help farmers create high-quality, value-added products right here on the estate. This approach keeps more income within the community and builds sustainable livelihoods.

Amba Estate is best known for its hand-crafted teas. We were the first estate in Sri Lanka to produce hand-rolled black and green teas in a style inspired by traditional Asian methods. Our teas are carefully made in small batches, focusing on quality, flavour, and craftsmanship, and are enjoyed in shops and restaurants around the world.

In addition to tea, we produce a wide range of artisanal goods including spices such as cinnamon, lemongrass, cloves, and pepper. We also process our own coffee and cascara, and create delicious homemade jams and chutneys. Everything is grown, harvested, and made with care on the farm.

At the heart of Amba Estate is a simple idea: if it grows, turn it into a product. By combining traditional knowledge, innovation, and a commitment to sustainability, we aim to create products that are good for people, good for the environment, and full of authentic flavour.

Our teas are now sold by fine tea merchants in more than 20 countries, including the US, Canada, South Africa, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary, Lithuania, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, India and New Zealand.
