WINNER PROFILE
Formay Tea
Up a misty ridge in Boseong sits CheonBo Tea Garden, where master grower Moon Sung-Youn produces an ultra-limited black known as Formay. Hand-shaken in bamboo trays and sun-wilted on persimmon wood, Formay won Korea’s Grand Prize for black tea and later found fans abroad when Northern Tea Merchants imported just 2 kg, calling it “the most expensive tea we sell.” Quantities are tiny; flavour—dark honey and cacao—is huge.
