Perched between 1 200 – 1 600 m in the cool Kerinci highlands, PT Mitra Kerinci is Indonesia’s largest fully integrated tea plantation—sprawling over 2 000 ha of volcanic loam. Since its founding in 1991 the estate has managed every step in-house: seedling nursery, plucking, orthodox and CTC manufacture, green-tea steaming, instant-tea extraction and export logistics via Padang port. A solar-powered withering hall and field school for pickers earned the operation ISO 22000 and HALAL accreditations, while its orthodox blacks have cracked the Egyptian and Russian markets.
